silas1 Since the governor lets the exhaust valve open when the engine spins faster than desired, the combustion cycle is missed until the speed is below the desired speed of the engine. then the exhaust valve is driven again by the camshaft and therefore the engine sucks the fuel-air mixture through the intake valve, and a combustion cycle occurs (hit). the number of hit-cycles is increased with increased load on the engine. full load means, that the engine rev is just slightly below-desired rev and therefore there are only hit cycles. Since this engine is equipped with a rubber piston ring, it's not desired for constant operating at high loads, please check your water level within the coolant reservoir constantly!
