It works much better than I expected. When put it in the box it automatically switches off earphones and starts charging. When you take them out of box they are switched on automatically. I didn't like idea of the box but this functionality makes it super useful.
It is usable also in single earphone mode (I use it in traffic situations to be alerted).
Only problem I am aware of is slight delay between video and audio when connected to mobile (Nokia 7, so bluetooth 5.0) and watching Youtube. But I am only listening to podcasts/spotify so it is fine for me.

Q: The Day and other items on the display are in Chinese. How can I change this to English?

jkubos It was fixed after connection to android with app JYou. Probably according to system settings.
