Nice little radio. Programmed it to work with some high end Motorolas. I needed the FTDI usb cable for the UV-F8HP and programmed using chirp with the settings for the 888. Sound quality impressive for the price.

jonhanford Thatdepends on many factors, but at UHF frequencies, at 2-watts (high power) you can expect about 3 miles in the countryside, 1 miles in the city, and 15-20 floors indoors. At the low power setting, 2 miles country, 0.5 miles city, 6-8 floors indoors.
