Andyg The power supply that comes with the lights takes 110-240V AC mains and transforms it to 24V. The strings run at 24V so you only need to make the connection to an appropriate 24V source (polarity needs to be correct). You can do this by cutting the plug off and connecting to the wires. There may be a suitable connector for the lights (so you don't need to cut the plug off) but it may take some searching.
