Firstly, this arrived in good time. On first look it is nicely made. The nut thread is clean and smooth. The shaft diameter is 0.005 mm undersized so 10 mm bearings fit easily, but I will test the run-out under axial load to see how that turns out, which I shall report when I have tested it. The run-out is advertised at .01 mm and again I will report later when I have done testing it. I have given this spindle 5 stars but will change that if the run-out is not as stated. For the price paid with delivery this is excellent value.

Firstly, the spindle arrived in good time. I bought a couple of these from different vendors to compare the quality. This one is the slightly more expensive of the two, but still very cheap. On first look I notice that the nut thread is rough. I have done quite a bit of threading on an industrial scale and can see immediately on this one I received the threads are tearing along the apex; before they get to this state the threading cutters should be changed for new ones. Having said that, the nut does close OK on the collets. Next. The shaft is .01 mm undersized which means it has no trouble receiving a bearing - but this will not help with the claimed run-out of .003 mm especially where significant axial load applied, but I will test that and report back later. The other cheaper one I received from a different supplier is designated .01 mm run-out. The shaft on that one is only .005 undersized and the nut-thread on the shaft is nicely cut with no tearing at all. It will be interesting to compare the run-out on each of these, so I will update later. I have only given 3 stars on the quality because of the poor spindle thread and the 100th mm undersized shaft diameter. If the run-out turns out be as stated I will increase the quality to 4. Either way this spindle is excellent value for the price paid including delivery.

Arrived yesterday after 1 month; not well packed but not damaged.. Seems decent. Grooved at one end to take a cir-clip and threaded M14 x 1 at the other end which is useful albeit a little rough. I ordered this to check out the quality and delivery - so far so good. Later I will test its accuracy and machining properties add a review on that. I loaded it to a 12 mm collet on the thread end to check run-out. Bang on!
