Motor and ESC received quickly without any issues with shipping. The items were packaged in a small generic cardboard box and I had no issues with delivery. This is a pretty good value for the quality of motor and esc you get. I highly recommend this product, especially if upgrading an older brushed motor and esc. I purchased this motor+esc combo to upgrade an old brushed 2wd Traxxas Stampede. The motor fits perfectly in place of the stock motor, aligning with the stock motor mounting holes. I also purchased separately a Traxxas 3625 XL-5 Mounting Plate to give me a clean place to mount the new esc. My older (2005) Stampede had a different size esc and didn’t leave a convenient place to mount the new esc. This isn’t a problem caused by the new esc, but more because of the age of the truck and how standards have changed over the years. Added this info to this review in case someone else is also upgrading an old 2wd Stampede. I’ve been running this motor+esc for about a month and a half, so far this seems to be a good motor+esc combo for this vehicle. The motor runs strong and feels punchier with the brushless system. I don’t have a way to measure speed, but it feels like it runs a good 10+mph over the old brushed motor. More importantly to me, this motor runs A LOT cooler than the old brushed motor and I can run for much longer times. I’ve run this brushless motor for over an hour straight, mostly flat out without overheating the motor (outdoor temps around 30c / 85f). The motor can get very hot after that long of a run time, but does not overheat and I haven’t noticed any damage from doing so. I’ve been running this motor on 2s 50c 5500mah lipos. I don’t have any 3s batteries to try with this motor+esc combo. I also tested it with a couple of old 6 cell NIMH’s I had and the esc worked fine with them as well. The esc fan can be pretty loud when you’re standing next to it, but once the vehicle is in motion you don’t really notice the fan noise. It’s a

BG585553123 I wouldn't recommend this drone if you are new unless you're experienced with soldering and soldering very fine points. You will need to purchase a separate receiver and solder it to the drone's main board. The transmitter (controller) you choose will determine which receiver you need to solder to the drone. The goggles don't really matter so long as they are analog as this drone has an analog video transmitter. If you are new I would suggest a Ready to Run (R2R) kit that will include everything you need to get started and have all of the individual components configured and bound together so you can fly without extra configuration. This drone, even after you solder will still require you to know how to bind your controller to the drone's receiver and configure the software that runs the flight controller.

Q: did the drone came with a controller and batteries

BG585553123 This is a PNP drone. You will need to supply a receiver, transmitter, goggles and batteries

BG585553123 The goggles should work, but you will need to buy a D8 or D16 receiver (and solder it to the drone) for this drone to work with your transmitter.

BG585553123 This drone doesn't come with a transmitter (remote) or receiver. You will need to purchase a receiver that works with your existing transmitter and solder it to the drone.

BG585553123 ...small fan and it is spinning pretty quickly and the noise is not any louder than other fans of this size and speed that I’ve experienced, but wanted to bring it up since some readers looking to upgrade from brushed may not expect the fan noise. The bullet terminators on the motor wires are all the same colors terminating with black shrink tube. It would have been a lot more convenient if Surpass Hobby color coded each wire. It’s not a big deal since this is a sensorless motor, but it would have been nice if they would use different color shrink tubing to color coordinate with the esc or even if just the motor wire shrink tubing was different colors for each terminal. I did have to spend longer than I wanted trying different wire combinations until I found one that worked. Mostly because I’d forget which one I swapped since they all look the same. I also purchased the (optional) programming card for the esc separately. I don’t consider the programming card as a necessity for most people. The default esc configuration will work fine for most people. The programming card lets you configure options on the esc such as: Low voltage cutoff, “start modes” (punch), brake force (50-100%), reverse force (25-100%) and natural range. I wouldn’t consider this a crawling motor, but you can go pretty slow without any cogging. You will only lack really fine control at the low/slow end, but that’s not at all a problem for any application outside of crawling. Normal running around and bashing it operates really well. Overall this is a really good motor esc combo that offers a great value for people looking to upgrade old brushed systems. I feel like I’ve run this motor pretty hard in my 1.5 months of ownership and I haven’t had any issues or complaints yet.
