Richard It is very unlikely that you will make your current brand of scale work with this readout or Visa Versa. Many brands of scales have a A quad B signal or 5 Volt TTL. Some scales have 11um sine wave, some have HTL, some have 1 volt Peak to Peak. Some scales are Magnetic, some are a glass etching with different pitch or gratings (Number of pulses per inch or MM). All of these variables sometimes can also have different wiring. If you are lucky enough to have a TTL of the right voltage and with a 5 volt 9 pin D-sub connector, you need to make sure the pin outs and color codes are the same, otherwise you can blow out the scale. I am also not sure if this readout has a variable multiplier or fixed multiplier to give you the correct resolution. Many of the older readouts had fixed multipliers to only work on their own scales.
