le_butch no thermal imager or FLIR sensor with armor 8. search for armor 9 for getting the FLIR sensor.

le_butch yesthere is a scan function on uhf and vhf. but i don't use it so i don't really know how it works. for your help, there are many manual on the web.

le_butch itneeds the smarthub, it can t connect directly to the phone.

it is quite light so it is good. the sound is quite good if not too far, it is ok for paragliding with friends. it is little underpowered (3w) for longer distance communication. the lack of numeric keypad make it smaller and lighter but it is not very practical if you have to change chanels quickly (not memorised one). an holster is good to buy with. this version has a charger which can be charged with an USB, very useful (one usb for everything). i bought a remote mic, it was not working. after some tests with other mics and radios, my remote mic is working well, just the female plug of my radio is not making good connections. i opened it to check but i can't repair it without to change the whole plug so i use it without remote mic. my friend bought the same and doesn't have any mic plug problem. if you need light radio take this radio, if you don't really care use the 5W (or more) version with the numeric keypad.

the color is bright yellow so i will not lose it. i didn t test it yet, i bought it for emergency landing in a tree, so i hope i will never use it. but it is quite light so i will not feel it in the backpack.

i had to fly without and it is safer to fly with it: it stay still on you. as the mic button is not easily accessible, a remote mic is advised. the many loops (perhaps too much) help it to fix it as it is is better for you.
