Q: What kind of software do I need to program it? And surely don't advise Arduino, its shit for real world use. Little wank projects yes, but not for real ARM programming.

peterjazenga Arduino IDE meh but it depends on the goal, at software is powerful but also a complete pain to setup any project, for smaller projects, it's fine I'm using it with ADC DMA, complex timer controls and more without issue

Prettygood desktop multimeter. Although I did not like that I need 220V for it to work, that's when I modified it a bit, added a Li-Ion battery, charger, switch and now it's portable. at 5V it consumes ~250mA, with a battery it can do the whole night. Also, the charging now is done by using the USB port, so it also charges it when you want to connect to it. As I saw on some YouTube videos, the software leaves a bit to be desired, so I started making my own logging and remote controlling app on PC, so I can use it like my lab power supply and have better control and logging features. Measurements are good enough for me, I usually just need to measure voltage, current and resistance with a bit of beeping for shorts, so it works well for me. This is not a precision tool, but for the 120€ I got it for, its great and now portable.

These little switchy bois are nice for small project boxes on-off switch. You may think you don't need one, but you'll need one and then who's going to feel silly? Don't make your future self feel like a fool, get yourself this tool

These photoresistors do exactly what they need to do and when they need to do it. Treat them right and they might be the part for your project. Depending on the light level, they changed really nicely during test. Just buy them!

The good old 16x2 character LC Display for your projects. There is no reason to buy just one. You need at least 3. Simple to implement but use almost 7 pins, so think about getting an I2C adapter to save pins. Came well packaged and all of them had backlight working. Thats a solid buy.

I used them for making a DIY pogo programming header to program my onboard mcu's. Really good for test points on your board. Make a home made bed of nails. I'd say its a must buy, you may not need one right now, but you will need them when you least expect it. A solid 5/7.

A really good board to start using something better and get into real embedded stuff. Exciting. Cheaper and better than an arduino board.

So you're going wireless for your next project, the range is no miles or kilometers, but for short range these are amazing. Wireless logging of certain project or some remote control, it's all possible. They are also suprisingly small form factor!

A great board for your battery packs, take three, because you already need one, you'll need the second for a friend and then the first pack will gave worked so good you'll want another one. Save time and get yourself a few!

This is a great charger cable. The magnets are really strong and snap to the cable from a good distance. Its also really cool to show off to kids and they think its magic. Nonetheless, a great alternative to trying to plug the micro in to the port, saves all the hassle in the night especially with the led on the cable end.

Great little meter to see what value a component is. Reads great for resistance, capacitance is also really close as well as inductance. It's not bang on precise, but just enough to confirm if a component is not damaged (holds its value) or see what a mystery component is. The leads are not silicone, but still feel very flexible and "silicony". The LCD backlight is a really nice touch and implemented well! Also, this meter comes in a really nice cardboard box.

I ordered these for a parking lot problem for a company, let's hope I need some more. For now, they'rrrrrrre grrreat! Everyone works fine, no problems. Heaps of tutorials online as well. Read the data sheet too, they are really simple, hook one up to a 555.
