Q: Can this controller be used with T-FHSS protocol receivers? Does it need a module, or will one of the versions work out-of-the-box?

bikinidan The CC2500 module version can ONLY be used with the Futaba S-FHSS protocol. If you want to use things like Futaba FASST etc then you will need an external module.

Q: What radio protocol does the Futuba compatible receiver support - is it FASST? T-FHSS? Something else? I want to know what transmitters I can use it with, since I accidentally bought the BNF version not the RTF version with transmitter.

I intended to buy a BME280 not a BMP280. The BMP280 lacks humidity sensing. But that's my fault, not shipper's. Be careful to pick the right thing, these listings often combine BMP and BME variants in different models.

Works and appears as specified. Packaging was beaten up by delivery, but product survived totally fine.

I inadvertently ordered the BNF not RTF after having to cancel and re-make an order, so I can't flight-test this yet due to lack of controller. The models and variants can be confusing, take care. This is not the shipper's fault. As it all looks complete and intact, assuming it's all going to be fine.
