spokekiller Me again. So I have found out that the product is not defective. I got them to work under WinXP (my only Windows I still have). Apparently, while modern Linux kernels do have support for CH341 (note the 1!), they have problems with more modern versions of said Chip. So, even though your kernel recognises the chip, communication will fail due to changes in the chip.
