ScottNudds Followup. Kit assembled reasonably well. Pay close attention to the pictures before assembly. the rotory encoder actually does mount to the daughter board which is then mounted to the main board. Provides the proper offset for interior spacing.Unit works well for what it is. Doesn't seem to like operating at 6v, but is fine on 9. So a 9v battery is required, The board has optinal pins for powering the unit, but no facility for putting a 9v battery in the supplied case (bummer).
