MDS1979 I have just installed this unit on my gate. It uses the words ON or OFF to indicate the status of the gate in the eWelink app. You can test this once the switch is setup simply by putting the magnets of the sensors close together and it will indicate the switch is OFF in the app. Once the sensors are separated it will immediately show it as ON in the app. Thats the only indication it provides. For my garage door I use a different switch which uses the Tuya app. In the Tuya app it shows the doors as being OPEN or CLOSED with a nice graphic to show this. This is an improvement which could be made with the eWelink app for a device like this. I have also successfully got the switch to work with both Google Assistant and Alexa. I created routines in both Google Assistant and Alexa so that is responds to the voice commands OPEN GATE
