mlehman As the description states, there is no active rangefinder feature with this scope. The scope uses batteries to illuminate the red and green reticles, which are available in your choice of 4 versions.`

mlehman Yes, 5.8 G would be nice. Personally, I would buy them for other places on the spectrum, as this could be more generally useful to scanner and other radio monitoring hobbyiests.
