The glass screen cover must be applied perfectly, else a corner will make a bubble (the red edges presses on the sloped corners). The one-color cover in the same brand looks more refined, I have a few in my collection.

Hardware ... totally fantastic cellphone in every way ... it's big, fast, dual 4G, 2 speakers, and the battery is amazing! Software ... Chinese ROM (with English language installation option) without the Google Playstore. I manually installed the Playstore (many tutorials on internet) and everything works perfect, no issues at all after replacing bundled Chinese apps with preferred Playstore apps. Comes with Android 8, do minor updates to EMUI 8.2, but don't do the upgrade to Android 9 (EMUI 9+), China blocked the playstore on EMUI 9+. One can downgrade again to EMUI 8.2 using the HiSuite. Am 100% satisfied with the cellphone, but would have loved a Global ROM.

Beautiful and strong. The glass screen cover must be applied perfectly, else a corner will make a bubble (the red edges presses on the sloped corners). I prefer the totally red and the pink-ish covers in the same brand to the boring black.

Delivery review Thank you Banggood, I received the phone in just 3 weeks (China to South Africa) in excellent protective packaging. The phone has a see-through rubber cover bundled, but not a glass cover. Luckily I bought 2 glass covers additionally and a shock proof carbon fibre cover. It's truly a beautiful big 4G phone, it downloads 30Mb in only 5 seconds. Phone review Hardware: The Honor 8 max handset gets a 5 star rating in every way, I totally love it. Thank you Huawei. Software: Google Play Store and (Google framework) is not pre-installed and can be a real headache to to get installed. This excellent solution worked for me the first time https://youtu.be/FubclG3t-3A (50Mb download in video description) Simply copy the zipped two .apk files in above YouTube video via the phone cable from your PC to the phone, and install via the pre-installed AppGallery app (pic attached) on the phone (AppGallery.. Manager.. Installation packages. It will install the all-in-one GSMinstaller icon and Google installer icon on your phone (see pic attached). Open them to install the Play Store. Tip: Don't delete the GSMinstaller and Google installer apps from your phone, because after a normal phone software update (mine was a 3Gb update) (Settings.. System.. System update) the Play Store won't open. Solution.. re-install the Google Play Store after a system update if needed, or alternatively do a phone software update via WiFi before installing the Play Store. (See pic attached for updated phone software). I guess the international release date for this phone willl be later this year (one website suggests 16th May 2019?) with the Play Store pre-installed. A last word. The Chinese bundled apps on the phone uninstalled easily. Regards M
