leven 250V10A on the plug just means that is the aximum rating for the plug, has little to do with the "power setting" on the machine

leven The one who popped them obviously connected them incorrectly. Probably live and neutral to one each of the terminals, where one should be live and the other one should be to the light. Doing that will short circuit the dimmer and it will "pop"

leven Yes you can use this with a single color led strip, or 4 separate single color led strips, just leave the unused outputs empty. absolutely not short them.
