Great little device. Spend some time translating the pdf and you will be rewarded. The UART connection permits setting different settings; the I2C interface does not seem to permit changing settings. For a quick start the UART messages are as follows r1# Return D= calibration value r2# Return T= mS between data sending r3# Return M=0 flitered data, M=1 Raw data r4# Return MaxX= maximum distance mm r5# Return S=0 repeat tx of data, S=1 passive tx of data r6# Return L= passive read of data, distance

Cool Sensor ! Works flawless. Documentation is a bit weird but you should be able to make it work. Tested with i2c connection on Arduino Mega. I recommend. Thank You.

It is arrived very well packed and relatively fast. The accuracy is so so, but acceptable, especially on this price level :-)

Distance rating is almost spot on. Device not useful under 10cm. At larger distances, stray light sources may be interfering with measurement
