I was skeptical about buying antenna in first place, But antenna looks genuine, build quality is good, packaging looked genuine (Came in orange cover with hallmark), I am really happy with the performance, I don't have SNR meter so cant tell how well it performs over the stock UV-5R but there is noticeable performance improvement.

It's good for the price but don't ever put the radio in your back pocket. I sat down one time and broke it. It wasn't obviously any better than any of the other factory antennae that came with my cheap radios. When I had multiple radios on the same frequency they would all pick up different communication at different times. Sometimes the factary one picked stuff up that this antenna wouldn't and visa versa.
