The amplifier seems adequately assembled, but with only minimal solder on the connectors. I added more for some mechanical robustness. I have access to a network analyser so measured the gain and return loss of the assembly at both 3V and 5V. The amplifier worked very well and is well matched across its entire band. Input return loss<-10dB from 400MHz to 3.5GHz, Output return loss better than 17dB from 10MHz to 4GHz. Gain at 1GHz is 17dB at 5V and 0.5dB lower at 3V I also measured the noise figure which confirmed levels of performance in line with the datasheet. The open construction of the connectors means that the shielding is not perfect, and some pick up of FM broadcast, mobile phones, WiFi etc was found. The metal case probably makes this part better than purely open PCBs but some pick up still occurred. Additional screening (metal box) may be needed for critical applications. This LNA exceeded expectations at the price point and I would recommend it as a preamplifier.

Works amazingly well with an SDR, more than doubled the range when receiving ADS-B data on 1090MHz. I'm now seeing planes over 65miles away, without this guy on I'm only seeing 30miles. running it with an old 5v phone charger power supply.
