The voltage tester works, but all that there is inside it is a resistor and an LCD screen. The LCD screen is graded 12-36-55-110-220 volts. So if you are testing 220 volts, the whole range is displayed and for 36 volts only 12-36 is displayed. It works just like a neon bulb voltage tester and not very great quality. You could spend some more dollars and get this one (http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-AC-Electric-Voltage-Detector-Sensor-Tester-Pen-90~1000V-p-20829.html).
