This model of PL2303 (TA) is a good one. I used before some old model and I got somùe time errors (on Break signal transmission) This new PL2303TA is perfect, I do not have any errors. More, the blue cover may be taked off and at this time, the electronic module is avalaible.

currently I am using them to feed 5V power to my ESP boards. If required you can use a MCP1700 to reduce to 3.3V
