a fast test with various solutions (acid and base) was ok. the color has a tendency to go away and you can stain yourself or any surface that are in contact with the pH paper after it has been used.

The test strips are designed to work in the whole range of pH - from very acidic to very alkaline, which makes it less accurate for practical use. I got to use it only once so far, and I was able to determine that my solution had pH between 5.5 and 6.5 and not more precise. If you can live with an error of 1 in the pH scale, then this is for you. If you need a more accurate measurement, this is not for you. Buy a separate pH meter, or more specialized test strips, with limited range, but more accurate.
