I use these quite often. It can be a little tricky with some fabric (better use plain cotton...) but the results are fantastic. The final measurment of the bias is indicated on each tool, you just have too cut the stripes of fabric at twice the mesurment indicated (i.e. 50mm wide istripes if the bias maker you want to use indicates 25mm). The 6mm one is really small, and you'll need extra patience for this one, but the result is gorgeous !
